China’s #2 ecommerce operator Pinduoduo will look to steal some of the thunder from rivals by staging its own Singles Day TV extravaganza in partnership with provincial station Hunan TV. The satellite channel is known for its entertainment shows and enjoys a wide viewership across China. PDD will host a ‘Double 11 Super Night Gala’ show on the eve of Singles Day, 10 November, during which it will give away CNY1 billion in coupons through a range of interactive games and activities as part of the ’10 Billion Subsidy Program’ announced earlier in conjunction with the sales event.
